Amazing Australia Trip Day 8: Breakfast at Queen Victoria Market!
We have come to the final post of the 8 Days Trip to Australia series: Day 8 - A visit to the Queen Victoria Market before we caught our flight back to Singapore!
Day 8 - 2 September 2017, Saturday
Overall itinerary of our eighth day
0800 - 1130 : Visit Queen Victoria Market for breakfast & shopping
1130 - 1200 : Check out of Airbnb & head to airport via Skybus
1540 - 2150 : Flight back to Singapore
Saturday morning, we headed out bright & early to the Queen Victoria Market with the Melbourne Free Tram Zone!
We started off by exploring all the vegetables & fruits stores. Somehow, the market just has a different vibe / feel as the Singapore's wet market. Nice to wander around just watching people buy and sell groceries. I ended up buying a box of strawberries & brought it home with me, sweeeet!
With so many stores to explore, we only managed to visit a few of the more popular ones (crowd's favourites) for our breakfast. We have always heard people saying that we have to try Australia's coffee, so we got our last cups of coffee for our trip - Cappuccino & Latte. Real smoooooth & it leaves behind a nice aftertaste ~
After savouring the cups of coffee, we joined the long queue for some jam doughnuts selling at 5 for AU$6.00. Made fresh and right out of the fryer, they are crispy on the outside & chewy on the inside with sweet jam filling.
Then, I shopped a little at the Chemist Warehouse outlet at the market, and bought my favourite goat soap bars. And not forgetting getting some Manuka honey too! Australia is known for their honey after all.
That was about it before we headed to the airport for our flight with the return Skybus ticket. Going home from holidays always felt bittersweet because it is a sign that holiday is over but the flight entertainment & food still made it enjoyable. We basically ate our way home, haha!
