Food Review @ WaBar

Food is always, always a recurring thought in my mind. Today, I am going to talk about yet another '-bar' with great food and drinks. Now that I think of it, I have covered quite a few bars on this site (if you haven't read about them yet, you should: Oriole Coffee + Bar and Joo Bar!)

As for today, it is yet another Korean bar - Wabar! I have been here twice and I am definitely planning to head back... once my friends are all back in Singapore. For now, I will just have to look back at the photos which I have taken at Wabar and perhaps write about it to get rid of the craving.

Let's get down to it: Why do we love this bar? Firstly, I would say the ambience of the place. Besides the good food and drinks, you could enjoy some Kpop music with their mvs too. If you are a Kpop fan, you definitely should not miss out on this. Although this makes it a little difficult to hear each other over the loud music, we still had a fun time.

So what good food and drinks was I raving about all the time? I have to admit that I have a bad case of obsession over korean food and of course, I have to do something about it. Though slightly expensive, we would still say that all the food and drinks are worth it for the price.

What is a Korean bar without Soju right? That is why we ordered the popular watermelon soju. It came together with a pretty watermelon all dressed up with flowers and leaves.

And after we poured the bottle of soju into the watermelon:

It is time to say "Cheers!" and enjoy it all!

If you want to try something else other than the ubiquitous Watermelon Soju, you could try what we had - Lemon Soju? I could not remember if it is Soju or some other kind of Korean alcohol, but it tasted great too!

Once we had our drinks settled for the evening, we turned to the menu to decide what to have as our snacks, or dinner. Also, I am not exaggerating when I say, Wabar's menu has SO MANY items in it. It is good that we have a large variety of food items to choose from, it just makes it all that harder to pick what we want.

This is just 1 page of the entire menu. Having seen the oh-so-appetising photo of Cream Cheese Potato, we HAVE to order it.

Instead of having cheese poured over the fries, the cheese came in a sauce bowl together with several other condiments - chilli sauce, green chilli and tomato slices. Somehow, I felt the cheese is just alright, it would have been better if it is slightly richer. Otherwise, the fries are great to go together with your drinks.

On another one of our visits to Wabar, we have a Potato Bowl consisting of French fries, wedges and hot dogs. If you prefer more variety, you could go for this instead!

Another side dish which I would recommend would be its Nacho Cheese Chips. Nacho cheese being drenched over all that nacho chips, do I even need to say more?

Just look at the cheese.

Moving onto the highlight, Wabar's Honey Chicken Wings dish is a MUST-ORDER! I love it so, so, so much. The honey flavour is done just right and the wings are juicy too. One of my friends had said that the wings are slightly difficult to chew. I guess it really depends on your preferences. If you like softer and crispier Honey Chicken Wings, I would say Twins has some pretty decent ones (and they are just nearby too)!

As you can see from the photo, there are fried Tteokbokki as well. They went extremely well with the chicken wings since they are both crispy and chewy at the same time. I could easily eat them on their own.

Another Chicken item we had was the Soy Flavoured Chicken Drumlets and Wings. Honestly, we preferred the Honey Flavoured ones just because it tasted better!

That brings me to the end of Wabar's food review since we always reordered the Honey Flavoured Chicken Wings whenever we visit. That is also me hinting that I want more Honey Flavoured Wings from them next time! :)
