Food Review @ Sync Korean Fusion Bistro
I was looking through my food blog posts yesterday. Then, I realised that I have missed out on one food place which I really, really, really LOVE so much that I have visited them at least 5 times! This oh-so-awesome place is none other than Sync Korean Fusion Bistro!
If you love both korean and western food, I would totally urge you to give Sync Korean Fusion Bistro a try! True to its name 'Sync Korean Fusion Bistro', you could expect a fusion of both korean and western food. Don't believe me? Here is a photo of the yummy food I had on my last visit!
Just looking at this photo had me salivating again. May I find some time to head to Westgate for a meal soon! So what dishes do I ALWAYS order at Sync Korean Fusion Bistro?
First up, it is definitely the Kimchi Cheese Fries! I have tried so many Korean fries, yet this one is ALWAYS (really, always) the one that satisfy my craving for Korean fries/ cheese fries. I would go as far to say that this is a match made in heaven. Why? Simply because it is a simple combination with all my favourite ingredients in it and the cheese is rich too! Once you have one, you would never stop at one!
Another dish which I would always order is the Budae Jjigae, also known as Army Stew. Comprising of scallion, dumplings, rice cake, pork sausages, pork belly slices and ramyun, this is really DAEBAK! This is especially good for people like me who could not tolerate too much of spiciness, and for occasions where you only want a small portion (yet with so much ingredients in it!). Usually, I visit with 1 or 2 friends so this portion is just right! Also, you get to order more dishes to try too:) Now tell me, isn't that great?
And thirdly, you just could not say 'NO' to Matcha Lava Cake! See that explosion of matcha lava? It tastes as good as it looks, or even better! For a matcha lover, you might see yourself returning to Sync Korean Fusion Bistro for more of this goodness (just like me)! For every order of Matcha Lava Cake, you also get a scoop of Matcha ice-cream. The ice-cream is alright for me, I would have prefer it to have a richer taste of matcha. That being said, I would still order this for the Matcha Lava Cake (insert hearts emoticon here!!!).
I have not managed to try out other flavours of their Lava Cakes, but if you want, you could try their Taro Lava Cake too. I have read reviews that the Taro flavoured one is as good as the Matcha one, if not better! Could someone treat me to one? ;)
So besides these MUST-TRY, what else could you order at Sync Korean Fusion Bistro? One can actully be spoilt for choices here since they do offer quite a variety of dishes! I would tried the following few, not exactly my favourites, but they are worth at least a try.
On my last visit to Sync Korean Fusion Bistro, I ordered Pacheon (also known as Seafood Pancake) again since my last order of this pancake left me craving for more. Funny thing is, the pancake got fatter? On my first visit, I remembered my Seafood Pancake being much more crispier than this. Now, it is chewier and it still tastes great of course. If you like your pancake fluffy and chewy, this is for you! Oh, the soy dip goes pretty well with the pancake.
Having ordered Kimchi Cheese Fries, what else would a Kimchi addict order next? For me, it would be the Kimchi Fried Dumplings. On my last trip to Korea, I had a pleasant experience with some steamed Kimchi dumplings. They were so devastating delicious that I still remember the taste till now. That was why I decided to give these Kimchi Fried Dumplings a try. I would say, it would have been better if they are more kimchi in the dumpling!
This is something I ordered out of curiousity. The picture of this on the menu looks good, so we gave it a go. Known as Jaeyook Bokum, the wraps consist of spicy pork quesadilla, kimchi (yes, of course!), pickles, mozarella (another YES!) and cheddar cheese (triple YES!). This tasted like a wrap (duh), but somehow the combination did not go together as well as I have expected.
Another dessert which I had ordered on one of my visits is Hotteok, which is a chewy korean pancake stuffed with cinnamon and nuts, black sesame chantilly, chunky red beans and served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. For $10.90, I believe that it is not really worth the price seeing that a Hotteok in Korea costed me around $2 and it tasted much more crispier and the fillings were much tastier too. However, if you are curious about how a Hotteok tastes like, you could try this.
Having said all these, I am looking forward to my next visit to Sync Korean Fusion Bistro already! I do not revisit many food places, but this is definitely one in my 'to-go-again' list:) That would really tell you how much I love the yummy yet affordable food here!
Before I go, here is another photo of the I-can't-wait-anymore food for you!
