Food Review @ Habitat Coffee
Instead of visiting new cafes, how about paying a visit to some of the older cafes? So that was what we ended up doing one afternoon at Upper Thomson.
Upper Thomson is an area with many food places, both eateries and cafes. I hope it was not too late for us to finally pay a visit there! Since we were craving for both sweet and savoury cafe food, we paid a visit to Habitat Coffee which is opened in 2011. Just as its name - Habitat Coffee - suggests, it specializes in artisan coffee. However, we visited them for their home style dishes!
As we were still pretty full, we ordered an Eggs Tomato Relish, truffled fries and their homemade churros. That is still quite a lot for both of us, I guess! But how could we not order when all these food descriptions sound so good to us?
First up, we have our Eggs Tomato Relish which comprised of tangy tomato goodness with scrambled eggs and bacon, served with 2 slices of sourdough toast
Out of all the dishes we ordered, I believed this is the best tasting one! The scrambled egg is very fluffy, and the combination of the sweet and sour tomato goes really well with the sourdough bread as well. If you do pay a visit to Habitat Coffee, I would urge you to give this a try!
As for the truffled fries, we thought it tasted pretty average. Having said that, the taste of this truffled fries do meet our expectation for a serving of truffled fries that costs less than $10.
Lastly, you might be wondering how their homemade churros ($9) tasted. To be honest, I would not recommend you to order it. Perhaps we might have been pretty unlucky that day, the churros were covered with too much sugar.
It was such a shame that we had to shake off the sugar and the churros were still too sweet for us. I would have loved to consume that all since they really smelled heavenly to me. Oh well, better luck next time?
Guess I will be continuing on my journey to find the perfect churros!
