Food Review @ Sin Lee Foods

One of my 2016 resolutions is to travel for more GOOD FOOD! That is why I am so glad that I made a visit to Sin Lee Foods for their surprisingly delicious Aburi Broccoli Salad ($13) and the unusual yet sumptuous Original Durian Waffle ($17).

Starting off with an order of Aburi Broccoli Salad, we thought that the dish did not look that delicious but it tasted delicious! It is a funny thing, really. We only ordered it because there was a lot of recommendations of this particular dish and the menu has the additional one liner which says 'Trust us on this. You'll want more!'. So yes, we are glad that we trusted you!

The question is then "What made this salad so yummy?" We took a look at the menu and apparently, the Aburi Broccoli Salad is made up of smoky torched broccoli florets, white blasamic, papadum and red sugar. I have no idea how this combination managed to come together so well, go figure. For now, I will just settle for eating them up!

The second dish that came to us was the Salted Egg Sweet Potato Fries ($12). I saw many posts of this salted egg dish and that was the main reason why I visited Sin Lee Foods. On first glance, the sweet potato fries looked pretty appetising with the salted egg sauce drizzled over them. However, one too many of these fries made us sicked of it soon. For us, the salted egg sauce was too thick. It would be a better complement to the fries if it is a little more liquidy. Or perhaps it would work better with normal fries instead of sweet potato fries.

Lastly, being durian lovers, we definitely had to try The Original Durian Waffle ($17). Hey, the crispy waffle is drenched in pure Mao Shan Wang durian flesh and topped with a scoop of creamy coconut icecream, some coconut jelly, condense milk and coconut flakes! Honestly, what is there to not like about this durian waffle? I love it, very much.

It was such a fufilling and satisfying meal. I would probably be back to try out more dishes! ;)
