3 Places to satisfy your sweet tooth at Sinsa!
If you have a particularly sweet tooth like I do, then you have to go to Sinsa when you are in Seoul! Today, I would like to share with you 3 places at Sinsa where you can satisfy your sweet tooth (one after another, actually;D).
First off, you can pay a visit at Coffee Chu, a cafe with many varieties of churros! To get there, simply leave via Exit 8 at Sinsa Station and walk straight till Tous Le Jours before making a left turn, and then continue walking straight down Garosugil road while keeping an eye out for Coffee Chu which is tucked away on a side alley on your left. This is how the cafe looks like from the outside.
Coffee Chu is located on the second floor, so make your way up and you will see a tiny room with pink interior fittings and wooden furniture. Since we went in the morning, the place was pretty empty.
We went ahead and ordered a Hotdog churro as well as a Milky Boy churro.
So what is a Hotdog churro? It is basically just a hotdog half wrapped by a churro and drizzled with tomato and mustard sauces. Well, it is certainly an unique combination!
As for Milky Boy, it is a churro with white chocolate sauce in it. I really LOVE this one!
After having some awesome churros, we left for our next stop - Bloom and Goute. The restaurant is located at Gangnam-daero 160-gil street. When you see the street, turn left and then turn right at the first intersection before walking straight. Bloom and Goute will be on your right, in another small alley! It took us quite awhile to find it because we kept missing it even as we passed by a few times. Perfect example of walking without keeping my eyes opened, haha.
Originally, I visited this place with the intention to have my brunch here. I heard that they serve pretty good Eggs Benedict and Mixed Berry French Toast. However, they were not available. I am not sure if they have changed their menu or these dishes are only available on certain days. Luckily, they offer high tea set at a pretty affordable price although I could not remember the exact price (as expected).
The interior of the Bloom and Goute is pretty cozy and it has a calming ambience. I think it is a great place for high tea!
So with every high tea set, you would get to have a pot of tea of your selection as well. For that one hour, I was living the ultimate "Tai Tai" life!
Each set includes chocolate covered strawberry, chocolate brownie, 2 fruit cakes, scones, butter cake and 2 sandwiches. As a dessert person, I could not possibly say no to all these desserts. They were really, really good! Here is a close up of my favourite sweets.
With my stomach satisfied, we went on to our last stop for more desserts. This time, in the form of fruit tarts. DeuxCremes Tarts Seoul is known for their wide varieties of exquisite fruit tarts. This place is located at Garusogil street which you would have passed by before when you make your way to Coffee Chu. While on this street, turn left into this street and walk for around 8 minutes and you will see DeuxCremes Tarts Seoul on your left.
Upon walking in, I could not resist myself from staring at the many tarts lined up in their display cases.
We ordered 2 slices of tarts. One of them was raspberry lemon tart and the other was a banana chocolate tart. Both were good, but I preferred the first one over the latter.
Since I love anything matcha/ green tea, I ordered their Matcha Bingsu as well. That was a really bad decision made. It looked lovely, yet the ice bits were pretty rough and it is just chewing ice, really. Point learnt, order fruit tarts only!
Alright, that is it for today! Do get your sweet tooth satisfied at Sinsa! :)
