Ewha | Ewha Women's University
Ewha is one of my favourite places for shooting photographs and shopping for bags! To start off, we visited Ewha on a Saturday. That could explain why it was so crowded.
First off, to get to the bags shopping heaven and beautiful school grounds, you could take the subway and alight at Ewha Women's University Station which is located on the Dark Green line. We took Exit 2.
Our first stop was Caffe Bene. Technically, you could visit this cafe elsewhere since Caffe Bene has quite a few branches in Seoul. We decided to visit it for our brunch! From Exit 2, we crossed the zebra crossing to Teenie Weenie and took a left turn, before continuing all the way down the long street. We then stopped before a zebra crossing where Zoo Coffee is located on the opposite side. (We did not cross the zebra crossing!) Instead, we turned right and walked straight down till Caffe Bene.
My first thought was: Isn't this pretty?
We entered and looked through the menu. Based on our prior research, toast was a recommended item. They have different kinds of toast though. We looked at the pictures and decided to go with Caramel Cinnamon Bread (6,000Won). I mean, is there anyone who doesn't like caramel??
While we waited for the toast, we went around the cafe taking photographs and just looked around.
And TA-DA! Could you say NO to the toast when it looks absolutely yummy?
Based on the description on the menu, here is what it says: 'Charming bread with harmony of soft bread, thick flavor of cinnamon, and sweet&bitter taste of caramel sauce along with soft and clean whipped cream.' And YES, it definitely fits the description!
We enjoyed this piece of art on the 2nd floor where you get to sit near the balcony.
After the toast, we left to visit Ewha Women's University which is just across the zebra crossing! If I did not know that it is a school... I would have thought it is a palace.
And more shots of the campus!
If you want to take photographs with pretty backgrounds, do head up the stairs!
At the school building... This is the PERFECT place for photo-taking :)
I took the chance to snap a few photographs too.
When we have had enough fun at the campus, we headed off to the shopping street. Personally, this is also one of the places where you could get cheap deals for bags. I would recommend this shop called Stylish T-One. Not only are all their bags priced at 10,000Won, they have a huge collection of different designs!
Also, how can you do street shopping without eating street food? Along the streets, you would see a few stalls selling Grilled Chicken Skewers. Do try them! I bought mine at 2,000Won. I bought the non-spciy one since I have a low tolerance for spicy food. This skewer comprises of chunks of grilled chicken with a few bits of spring onions (I think so?), and topped with cheese powder and mayonnaise.
It is delicious! So another MUST-TRY!
As for dinner, we had plans to eat at AndongJjimdak (안동찜닭) Restaurant. However, we could not find it. Either it has changed its name or it has moved. In the end, we went for another restaurant which also sells Andong chicken.
I cannot pronounce its name... but the dish is not bad here! I could not remember how much we paid for this, but it is more than enough for 2 for us. This contains chicken, carrots, glass noodles, dumplings and some other stuff. You could order nonspicy or spicy versions of it. Other that that, I think they have some interesting dishes as well but we could not eat that much for a meal. I would have loved to try their cheese dishes.
Okay, that is about it for my Ewha's trip!
Next post coming up would be about my trip to Anguk, a place with great food and beautiful cafes.
